Singing Against Homelessness - Saturday, May 19, 2:00pm to evening
A Benefit for the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter, with host Simón Rios
Simple Gifts Coffee House will hold its first annual Singing Against Homelessness event May 19, a singer-songwriter tournament to raise money for the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter.
Simple Gifts has teamed up with the church-wide Ending Homelessness and Hunger project to put on this event.
Up to 30 solo musicians will compete with original songs for the top prizes. The winner will be chosen by averaging the audience vote and that of our star panel of judges. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place along with honorable mention. The first prize winner will choose either having a song produced by Grammy award-winning producer Joe Sparkman, or host and feature for Simple Gifts Performer's Showcase next season. Second place will take the prize the first place winner does not choose.
El Paisano Mexican restaurant will provide tacos for sale during the event, and the Riverwalk Cafe will serve fresh brewed beverages. There will also be a bake sale featuring baked goods from the UU congregation and others.
Come on out and support the new wave of singer/songwriters and join us for this community event to end hunger and homelessness in Nashua. Upon admission you will receive a pass that will allow you to come and go during the day.
Audience admission price is $5-20 donation. The entry fee for singer-songwriters is $15.

Volunteers Needed!
Simple Gifts Coffee House is looking for volunteers. We need people who are willing to bake and/or supply tasty treats and refreshments for the coffee house. We also need people to set up the hall for shows and help with clean up afterward. Would you like to make coffee? There are many little jobs we need help with and one may be perfect for you!
