Programs

Events

We have many social events here, some of which celebrate significant dates in our calendar, such as the Church Seder in April, or which function as fundraisers, like our Service Auction, Sock Hop, Yard Sale, and various Fall Flings. We're also open to new ideas for having fun, celebrations, and helping out the budget! Detailed information on any of these events are also available from Barbara Koumjian or Steve Edington at the church office.

Cardigan Outing

An annual winter trip to the AMC Cardigan Mountain lodge in Alexandria, NH.

Ferry Beach

We gather annually sometime in the summer at the UU facility in Saco, Maine for a weekend of sun (hopefully) and sand, fellowship and fun. This is open to all church members and friends and their immediate families. To help with the planning of this exciting get-together, contact Chris Parker at the church.

Circle Dinners

Informal montly gatherings (November, January, February and March) which take place in members' homes. The various dishes served are brought by those attending the meal with the host/hostess providing hors d'ouervres & coffee. Everyone signing up takes one turn at hosting and bringing a part of the meal (one month you host, next you might bring dessert or salad, etc.). All the scheduling is co-ordinated for you. Even though the dinners are on-going, you can still sign up as a substitute by calling the church office.

The Senior Choir

It is neither a study group nor a social activity, but the church choir clearly combines elements of both! All interested persons and voice ranges are welcome: altos, sopranos, tenors, basses, baritones. The choir sings at three services per month, usually doing two anthems. It is led by our Music Director, Jed Holland. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings. Contact Jed after church service, or call the church office.

Fellowship Gallery Artists

Church members and friends who work in visual media are invited and encouraged to network with other local UU artists by visiting at their periodic informal coffee gatherings after Sunday service. Members of the group have been exhibiting in our "Fellowship Gallery" in the passageway to the dining room where we hold coffee hour.

The Church Office

The church office needs volunteers to answer phones and take messages on Wednesdays mornings, when both Steve Edington and Barb Koumjian, the church secretary, are off. The hours are from 9 am to 12 noon. This is a peaceful way to spend a Wednesday morning, and a number of people volunteer for a once-a-month slot - but many also volunteer just once. Please call the church office to schedule a time to come in if you can help us out this way.

The Newsletter Team

The Public Relations Committee writes and edits the newsletter - but the Newsletter Team gets it to your door! The team meets in the church dining room on the last Monday morning of the month to collate, staple, fold, label, sort and bag the newsletters for bulk mail distribution. It's the best-kept secret in Nashua for the most enjoyable way to spend a Monday morning! Please call the church office.

The Church Kitchen

Our kitchen manager could use some help with occasional shopping errands (and sometimes cleaning!) If you can lend a hand, please call the church office.

The Annual Fall/Spring Rake & Broom Team

An opportunity to get out into the fresh air and do some lawn and garden care! It's so much more fun when it isn't your own yard! We need people to rake, trim, weed, etc. in this twice-yearly endeavor to keep our plantings healthy. Dates are always announced in church and in the newsletter, but if you're interested, please contact the church office.
